Try taking the wheels and castle on a pretend ‘picnic’ journey from one room to another. Encourage your child to suggest things they need to take (pretend sandwiches, drink, plates, blanket, ball, etc). Pretend to pack the castle together, pull along to a new room and pretend to have the picnic.
Encourage your child to focus on the wheely part of Baby Bustle Castle. What else can we put on it? (clothes pegs? dry pasta shapes? building bricks?)
How high can we stack it? Leading naturally to… How far can we pull it without everything tumbling? What happens if we make a slope from a few books?
Try using some of the finger puppets to act out/retell one of your child’s favourite stories. Don’t feel pressure to stick to the story rigidly; just use it as a fun starting point with familiar words and a well-loved plot. E.g. Maisy’s Bathtime could have a prince knocking at the door, followed by a dragon and then a princess!
